Barn Kit & Shed Kit FAQs

If you’re comfortable reading council plans and a construction manual, and you have some building experience, you should manage well. However, given that we assemble these kits daily and know the process inside out, having NZ Barns handle the setup is often faster and more efficient.
Our barn kits can be built on concrete slabs, wood-framed floors with piles and bearers, or even full basements. Flooring options include carpet, tile, wood, or stained concrete. For most flat sites in New Zealand, a concrete slab foundation is the most cost-effective option, typically around 100mm thick with reinforcements under each post.
NZ Barns has trusted builders and agents throughout New Zealand who are familiar with assembling our barn kits. We’re happy to connect you with one. We recommend having your builder on-site when the kit arrives to confirm everything is in order before construction begins.
